In our research phase
on which is best in shrimp-farming we encountered
the Belize Aqua-culture Ltd which uses a closed
system. Revised,Closed
System The down points are:
- The lack of water-exchange
limits the density of the shrimp per m³.
- It limits furthermore
the percentage of protein in the shrimp feed
thus reducing growth.
- It requires extensive
and costly extra aeration.
- Salt contain
of the water has to be low.
- The water has
to be exchanged eventually.
